Still kicking and screaming....

So I'm still around, albeit, very quiet of late. I've had a lot going on lately, things I don't feel like getting into right now. I am just too tired to be dragging all of that out into the blogging world. I had a very nice b-day party on Friday, although Ethan did have a momentary brain fart yesterday when he forget that Monday was my birthday. He called me at work around 10:30 to ask if it was my b-day. Uh, yeah?! Hopefully I'll get back into teh swing of things in the next week or so. Til then...toodles.

;

Thanks to TKW we are delving into our birthdays of yore. As someone who will be experiencing her own twenty-twelve in 5 short days, this one hit me like a slap in the face. How the hell did I end up in my thirties?! Whoever is responsible for that sadistic little trick needs to get their ass kicked. As I looked over the old birthday pictures I realized I AM OLD. No longer do I color my hair for shits and giggles. Now I color it to cover up the grey.  I put lotion on not because it smells good, but because it's suppose to minimze the wrinkles.

So here I am at the tender age of 12. Look how sweet and innocent. I'm sporting the latest fashion of the year with my angora sweater vest complete with tie! Festive.

So I'm pretty sure I am 17 in this one and yes...I am hooked straight up to the keg.

And since I have no plans to ever run for presidential office...this is me on my 21st birthday getting "stoned" under a carnival ride. I think it was the Rotor.

So I keep changing the title

But the content stays the same. I can't seem to find a title for my blog that fits me. I chose the one above b/c I have a favorite song I sing when I'm happy and now Jacob sings it with me. I can't remember who it is by, but it's called Bottle of Wine. It goes something like, Bottle of Wine/ Fruit of the vine/ when you gonna let me get sober/ Leave me alone/ let me go home/ let me go home and start over.

Nothing to much to report. It's raining cats and dogs so hopefullt my tom. will actually ripen instead of just remaining green on the vine. The trade off for this is that my basement is now full of water.

Jacob fed the fish.

So Jacob decided to feed the fish all by himself on Saturday. He dumped a huge container of food in. Ethan managed to suck and scoop alot of it out, but you can still see clumps of food at the bottom. The tank turned cloudy and green and the two surviving fish got very aggressive.

And then there was one. Yup, by Monday morning the blue guy with black stripes was belly up.  Now it's up to the yellow guy to survive.

I must be insane!

Why else would I let these people watch my kids? Oh yeah, it's because I'm desperate and poor.
So we have family watch our 2 cherub little boys throughout the week. Fortunately there is only a 3 1/2 hour span (3 days/week) that we need child care. Ethan's grandmother (she's 85) watches our kids up to 2x's/week and you know what? She is the most reliable. The ones I'm freaking out about are MIL and FIL. They are truly dumbasses! So we went to their house for dinner the other night and I overhear MIL telling a story about how she was watching this little girl and apparently the little "she-devil" got into some sherry and proceeded to get "drunk". Now this was about 25 years ago, but why was no one else (besides my husband) alarmed at this tale? She was suppose to be watching this child, no matter how precocious she was. This is the woman that fed my first son ice cream at the age of 5 months against my wishes. I was doubly upset that it was chocolate ice cream. A week later I noticed the markings of my son having enjoyed ice cream again and when I asked her response was "don't worry. I didn't give him chocolate...it was coffee ice cream" HELLO!! Did you really think this would make it better.
MIL has also asked me if I let Jacob play in the backyard by himself. He's 2. Hell NO! I don't even like him in his playroom for more than 10 minutes without me checking in on him. Am I over reacting? I don't think so and if you say yes I really don't give a rats ass because they're my kids.LOL. Oh I have pages upon pages to vent about this woman, but I think I'll stop for now because I'm working myself up into a tizzy.

Tech help please.

Ok so I will admit I am technology retarded. I own cables and things to hook up scanners and video cameras and such, but they are still in the packaging b/c I just don't get it. Anyway, how do I put the counter things on my screen I have the code, but I don't know where to put the code. It's a bit of conundrum And I would like to link to other blogs I read, how do you all do it?

There's a Killer among us!

The bad ass below has been wiping out my entire tank.
Image hosted by Photobucket.comIt's not like he's new to the group, he has been in their for over a year and all of a sudden he went psycho!! He was pretty low in the pecking order, but he waited it out an dmade his move. Over the course of two weeks he has wiped out all but one other cichlid and a sucker fish. He lives in a "ruins" thing where he has dug out all of the gravel and now darts his head in and out like an eel, just waiting for his prey to go by.  Vicious little SOB.

Memory Lane- The Family VayKay!!

So another trip down memory lane thanks to Mama Duck!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Here I am with 2 of my 3 brothers. We did a family fun trip to visit my oldest brother (baseball cap) in Ohio. Here we are in Cedar Point. Do you like the poodle hair? I am so styling! And check out that two-tone jean jacket, the sleeves zipped off to turn it into a super cool vest. Ih yeah...I ROCKED!!

Now here I am (3rd one in) with my cousin and some friends. Technically this wasn't a family vacation, but 2 of my aunts were chaperones. I'm looking pretty sweet in that not quite a one piece, not quite a bikini bathing suit. I recall my boobs falling out of this little number on more than one occassion.

ugh, I did this weeks WBW, but it got lost!!

Now I'll have to do it again.

Update to the WBW blog. These pics came out like crap because I just took photos of them. Really need to get off my butt and find the software for my scanner.

Anyway, this is me and E at my brother's wedding. The dress was red lace!! Doesn't get any better than that! But my hair was cute!

Way Back Wednesday (OK it's Thursday)

So I'm following Katie's lead here and gettiing in on the fun. This is from Mama Duck's site. The rule is, if you want to play link back to her site and let her know you are in on the fun too!

Image hosted by Photobucket.comSo this is Ethan and I on our wedding day back on May 5th 2001. It was cinco de Mayo and we had a blast. Some day I'll dig out more pics and get some posted. Everyone had a blast at our wedding and I was a pretty laid back bride considering the whole fiasco of it all. It started the day before when I woke in the morning and my sinuses were so infected I couldn't open my eyes. A trip to the doc and some steroids got me back into shape in no time. Then I went to pick up my wedding gown. Guess what? It didn't fit correctly and it looked like I had a 3rd nipple in the dress. So fine...fix it, I'll be back. Run errands and errands and errands. Go back for dress, it is acceptable, but when we went to leave the shop my mom's car wouldn't start. Call Ethan and tell him I won't make it to the rehearsal on time. Luckily a bridesmaid came in to get her dress and took me back to the hotel where i took a quick whores bath and got dressed and rushed off to the church. I had to leave my dress at the store.

Rehearsal was fine, but when the priest hugged me (in his Berkinstocks (LOL) i started to cry). Ethan had preeped all of the food for the rehearsal dinner to have a party back at his parents house. A chef friend was going to fire it all. After rehearsal we get the call that the town lost power and he is doing the best he can. No problem. I think we were just giddy with disbelief at all that was going wrong.

So now it's wedding day: my stepdad is severly ill. So ill in fact that he was unable to attend my wedding. This was the only thing that broke my heart.

Blunders of the day included the guys forgetting the boutineers in our apartment, the limo locking the keys inside and us out after all of the guest already left the church, the elevator at the hotel breaking down (they got it fixed and then shoved Ethan, myself and the 10 members of the bridal party in it). Luckily it didn't break down again.

Ethan and I danced to Bob Marley's 3 Little Birds.  Ethan used to sing this to me when I first moved in with him.  All said and done it was a very memorable day and everyone had a blast. Two of my cousins have since married and both used my wedding as the standard of a good time that they wanted to achieve.
