Way Back Wednesday (OK it's Thursday)
So I'm following Katie's lead here and gettiing in on the fun. This is from Mama Duck's site. The rule is, if you want to play link back to her site and let her know you are in on the fun too!
So this is Ethan and I on our wedding day back on May 5th 2001. It was cinco de Mayo and we had a blast. Some day I'll dig out more pics and get some posted. Everyone had a blast at our wedding and I was a pretty laid back bride considering the whole fiasco of it all. It started the day before when I woke in the morning and my sinuses were so infected I couldn't open my eyes. A trip to the doc and some steroids got me back into shape in no time. Then I went to pick up my wedding gown. Guess what? It didn't fit correctly and it looked like I had a 3rd nipple in the dress. So fine...fix it, I'll be back. Run errands and errands and errands. Go back for dress, it is acceptable, but when we went to leave the shop my mom's car wouldn't start. Call Ethan and tell him I won't make it to the rehearsal on time. Luckily a bridesmaid came in to get her dress and took me back to the hotel where i took a quick whores bath and got dressed and rushed off to the church. I had to leave my dress at the store.
Rehearsal was fine, but when the priest hugged me (in his Berkinstocks (LOL) i started to cry). Ethan had preeped all of the food for the rehearsal dinner to have a party back at his parents house. A chef friend was going to fire it all. After rehearsal we get the call that the town lost power and he is doing the best he can. No problem. I think we were just giddy with disbelief at all that was going wrong.
So now it's wedding day: my stepdad is severly ill. So ill in fact that he was unable to attend my wedding. This was the only thing that broke my heart.
Blunders of the day included the guys forgetting the boutineers in our apartment, the limo locking the keys inside and us out after all of the guest already left the church, the elevator at the hotel breaking down (they got it fixed and then shoved Ethan, myself and the 10 members of the bridal party in it). Luckily it didn't break down again.
Ethan and I danced to Bob Marley's 3 Little Birds. Ethan used to sing this to me when I first moved in with him. All said and done it was a very memorable day and everyone had a blast. Two of my cousins have since married and both used my wedding as the standard of a good time that they wanted to achieve.
