A-maize-ing day in the corn fields

I have been very stressed adn not a very good wife or mama lately so a day at the farm was exactly what I needed. Our day was perfect (OK we had a few bumps, but we made it through). Jacob had pre-school (he brought snack and was the special helper) and we packed Danny up to pick up Jacob after school to head out to the farm. (Bump 1, we were late picking up Jacob...he was the last kid there (broke my heart)).

We were greeted by this lovely jug band. The boys enjoyed watching them.

The Farm is closing.

So I took my boys to a Game Farm over the summer. It's a place we had hoped to bring our kids to every year as a tradition, but the farm closed it's doors this fall and auctioned off tehir animals. So this was our last hurrah here (a first hurrah for Danny).

Ok. So it looks like I was sold. At a meeting on Wed. he casually mentions something about some guy downtown paying part of my salary and getting 25% of my time. Hello.....a heads up would have been nice. This is a common practice, but usually you get "bought" by someone you at least know. And that job I applied for most likely won't pan out b/c the lovely state has put new rules into affect that would make it nearly impossible for me to get the job. Someone less qualified could get it if they are licensed. I can't get licensed b/c there is no exam...yet. And even when the exam comes out it is going to be so generalized that someone like me who has specialized for 9 years (in the exact techniques that would be useful to the new job) will have a difficult time passing it. Ugh. I feel like I got a bend over and a big FUCK YOU!!

I was thinking how people always say out of the mouths of babes, blah blah blah and it got me to thinking of all of the things that come out of my mouth any given day. So I thought I would start a list.

4. You can touch your own penis, just leave your brother's alone.

7. Why are you licking me?
8. and you thought coating your brother in PAM was a good idea??
9. How many pennies are up there?
10. Why would you fill my shoe with jelly??
